Can you remember what you were doing at the age of 9? Probably not but I am sure you can vividly remember that you were definitely not lifting some heavy weight. Then again is any 9-year-old really training intensely so early on in life? The answer to that question is YES and her name is Damiyah Smith. While she might only be in the fourth grade Damiyah is capable of deadlifting an impressive 135 pounds, squatting an equally impressive 100 pounds, and bench pressing a total of 65 pounds. And at such a young age has already broken three records in her age and weight(70 pounds) categories at the Junior Olympics. I guess that’s what happens when you train 4 days out of the week with your father and have been weight-training since the age of 4! Find all of this a little hard to believe?
