Arnold Schwarzenegger Explains Why He Trained Chest and Back Together

It has been over three decades since the last time Arnold Schwarzenegger trained for a competition but to this day many young bodybuilders credit Arnold as their biggest inspiration. Even though all the black-and-white images of the “Oak” training have long faded on the walls of hardcore Southern California gyms, the training philosophies that built arguably the world’s greatest bodybuilder live on. In the video below, Arnold explains his reasoning for pairing chest with back. Stating that supersets allowed him to become more defined and created better muscle separation. “It really worked well, sometimes we not only did the superset but we did three, four sets because remember the body doesn’t really respond to the same thing over and over..”
