At one point in time Deron Williams and Chris Paul were looked at as the gold standard for point guards in the NBA. While Chirs Paul has continued playing at a extremely high-level, the same cannot be said for Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams. During his time in Brooklyn, Williams’ name has been associated with negativity and loads of criticism as many feel he hasn’t lived up to the expectations. After signing his 5 year $100 million contract, Deron was expected to take the Nets franchise to the next level but due to injuries plans haven’t gone as they were envisioned. However, when healthy D-Will can put the team on his back and lead them to victory on any given night.
Which is exactly what we saw in the Brooklyn Nets game 4 matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. D-Will turned back the hands of time and reminded the fans of Brooklyn what he is capable of, drilling seven threes on his way to an ice cold 35 point, 5 rebound and 7 assist performance. And more importantly leading the Nets to a victory and a 2-2 series tie heading into game 5 in Atlanta. With D-Will playing at this level it makes you wonder how much trouble are the top seeded Atlanta Hawks really in?
