Draymond Green And Klay Thompson Carry The Load As Warriors Secure Game One Win

by Brandon

A teams chances to win the NBA championship are extremely delicate and can be undone with one sprained ankle, twisted knee or broken hand. Injuries simply cannot be avoided and can pop their ugly head at any given moment. This season alone injuries have derailed the championship aspirations of the Los Angeles Clippers and have placed a huge challenge right in the front of the favored Golden State Warriors.

The soon to be back-to-back MVP winner Steph Curry suffered a sprained MCL after slipping on a wet spot in Game 4 of the Warriors first round series against the Houston Rockets and has missed every game since as a result. And while rumors say that Steph could possibly be ready to get back on the court sooner rather than later, The Warriors had to got to battle yesterday against a hungry Portland Trail Blazers team without their commander in chief. But it seems as if they are up for the challenge and are paying Steph back for the numerous games he carried them throughout their historic season.

Two guys in particular who have picked up the slack is the other half of the splash brothers – Klay Thompson and Mr. do it all – Draymond Green. Setting the tone for yesterdays game right from the tip, as Klay came out on fire hitting on all cylinders. And it wasn’t long before Draymond began to make his impact on the game and help create some separation between the Warriors and Blazers. Displaying just how good of an overall team the Warriors actually are. While Steph gets a ton of credit and deservedly so, the Warriors are a complete team that can match-up well with just about every team regardless if the chef is in the line up or not.
