If there is one thing that all sports fan can agree upon, it is that there is nothing quite like the NCAA tournament. Its unpredictability leaves fans all around the country on the edge of the seats throughout its entirety. The single elimination aspect of the tournament gives all 64 teams a fair chance to come out victorious. Unlike in the professional ranks where they take part in seven game series. In a seven series the best team will always win but in a one game scenario where the winner moves on – anything can happen. If you have been following the tournament up to this point then you know exactly what I am talking about. As there were a record-breaking ten wins by teams possessing a double-digit seed with none being more of a shock than 15 seeded Middle Tennessee State’s upset victory over 2 seed and National Championship contender Michigan State.
While the first round of games were incredibly entertaining, the second round contained a collection of some intriguing Sunday match-ups of its own. 11 seeded Northern Iowa headed into their match-up against 3 seeded Texas A&M riding high off of their half-court game-winning buzzer-beater. 14 seeded SF Austin looked to shock the world once again but this time against 6 seeded Notre Dame. 11 seeded Gonzaga had plans of dancing their way past 3 seeded Utah en route to the Sweet Sixteen. While Arkansas- Little Rock was attempting to take down All-American Georges Niang and 4 seeded Iowa State. How did the second round play out?
