The bench press is “one of the best exercises for adding strength and mass to the upper-body”, specifically the triceps and chest. The key however to a proper bench press is to eliminate the stress on your shoulders, if not you’ll end up developing bad and/ or weak shoulders. A slight adjustment to your technique can be extremely helpful. When performing a bench press try tucking your elbows in slightly so they are at a 45 degree angle. This will take the pressure off of your shoulders and place it more on your triceps, make these adjustments and save your shoulders before you tear them up.
