NBA All-Star weekend was a tremendous success in the eyes of basketball fans across the globe. Starting off with the inaugural World vs USA game, in which we got to see a collection of the NBA’s brightest young stars. Followed by an entertaining Saturday night that included one of the best three point shootouts in recent memory, Stephen Curry stole the show in the final round by going off for a competition high 27 points while draining 13 consecutive three pointers in the process. Wish I could I didn’t see that coming but Steph is hands down the best shooter on the face of the world. The three point shootout was followed by the event of the night, The Slam Dunk competition and my oh my was it one to remember. After a few dead years it is safe to say the dunk competition is back thanks to high-flying rookie Zach Lavine. At only 19 years old, Zach showed he was ready for the bright lights of New York City and stole the show with some glitz and glamour of his own.
The weekend concluded with the big game last night and it was the perfect finale to an extraordinary weekend in the concrete jungle that is New York City. The 2015 ASG was filled with exciting plays but the stage was set up perfect for one man to steal the show, that man is Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook. His swagger and exuberant personality was pretty much custom made for the ‘city of dreams’. Russell went off for an explosive performance of 41 points, collecting his first ASG MVP along the way. All in all it was an exceptionally exciting All-Star weekend. Check out the video below to take a look at the top 10 plays from the All-Star game!
