The NFL divisional round is in the books as we saw all four home teams emerge victorious, meaning that we will see the top 4 teams in the NFL battle it out on championship weekend. We saw what Tom Brady is capable of doing when he has a healthy Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. As he picked apart the Kansas City Chiefs on his way to a 27-20 victory.
Peyton Manning on the other hand, might not have had a vintage performance but managed to play mistake free football and make the big throw when it was needed from him. Threading the needle on a seam pass up the middle for a 31-yard gain. Then handing it over to the run game to close it out as the Denver Broncos came out on top by a final score of 23-16. Setting up yet another Brady vs. Manning playoff match-up.
On the NFC side of things, the Carolina Panthers continued to display the dominance they have all season long as they pounced on the Seattle Seahawks by jumping out to a 31-0 lead in the first half. And would use that early cushion to hold off the reigning NFC champions and squeeze out a 31-24 win.
The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand were apart of one the greatest NFL playoff games. Which came down to a hail mary attempt at the end of regulation by Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, which was miraculously completed to back-up receiver Jeff Janis to tie the game up at 20 a piece. In overtime the Cardinals would handle their business and score a touchdown on the first possession and advance to the NFC championship.
