The Houston Texans went into their Thursday night game against the division rival Indianapolis Colts on a mission to get their season back on track. They couldn’t afford to fall 3 games under .500 so early on in the season. At 1-4 their chances of making the post season would be extremely slim if any and with a second left in the first half it seemed as if that was exactly what their season was coming to. Until quarterback Brian Hoyer dropped back and launched a 42-yard pass right before halftime that was unexpectedly hauled in by rookie wide receiver Jaelen Strong for his first career reception. And while the odds of successfully completing a hail mary pass are very low, Jaelen has two of his own through his football career to this point. Last year while still a student-athlete at Arizona State University he managed to grab what was his first hail mary pass against the University of Southern California and broke the hearts of their fans in the same instance.
Unfortunately, Jaelen’s incredible catch and second touchdown of the game couldn’t save the Texans from defeat as they would go on to lose by a final score of 27-20. But that doesn’t take away from Jaelen’s welcome to the NFL moment. Take a look at both of Jaelen’s incredible plays side-by-side in the video below!
