While most of the hype around Super Bowl 50 was surrounded around the quarterback match up of Cam Newton Vs. Peyton Manning, real football fans knew if the Denver Broncos had any chance of winning it would be because of their highly talented defense. And they were in fact the catalyst in the Denver Broncos 24-10 victory over the NFC champion Carolina Panthers. Lead by linebacker Von Miller, the Broncos set the tone early with Miller’s strip sack of Cam Newton which was recovered by defensive lineman Malik Jackson and returned for a touchdown to give the Broncos an early 10-0 lead. And the Panthers would never be given the chance to recover, as the leagues hottest and best defense would dominate the entire game from beginning to end. Clinching the Lombardi trophy with Von Millers second strip sack, which came with 4:13, left in the fourth quarter as the Panthers desperately attempted to get back in the game. Providing for the perfect ending to what was an ugly, defensive minded Super Bowl.

Von Miller was the leader of the defense last night ending up with 2.5 sacks, 6 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and the Super Bowl 50 MVP trophy. Making him only the tenth defensive player to be awarded with the honor, not too shabby huh? Take a look at Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller’s highlights from the big game in the video below!
